Default for people that dynamat the trunk....

There are threads with pics for dynamatting the doors, but does anyone have pics/diy for the trunk?

When applying to the trunk, can the oem fabric cover go back over the dynamat, or does the dynamat stay exposed?

Do I need to apply to the metal part beneath the rear deck? If so, should I apply below the rear deck (inside the cabin), or inside the trunk?

i dont have pictures, but no...the dynamat does not have to be exposed..put anything you want over it.

you can apply dynomat wherever you want/can. i wouldnt say you NEED it above and below...one or the other should suffice.

the way i usually test is punch the area you're going to dynomat and see what it sounds like. now put the dynomat on and punch it again. if it seems quiet enough for your liking...you're all set. if you want...put more on and punch it again. if its better...do that much everywhere. dynomat isn't an exact science. just slap it wherever you can and it'll help

of course...dynamat is meant to be hidden. If it wasnt...they'd market and sell "Dynamat fabric".

I think what he meant was can the oem fabric still be able to clip back into place once the dynamat is installed. But thanks for the first response.

Anyone able to comment on the sound reduction qualities of dynamat?

Read the stats but I'd like to hear about actual experience.

Different opinions from different people. I used it on my last car and it helped with the stereo a lot! Some people are against it do to the weight increase. Some people will say they can't tell a difference. It all depends I guess. I would use it again if it was needed.

ahhh, gotcha.

usually they will clip back in, but you may just have to remove the dynomat an inch around the female part of the clip.

i havent had a problem with any clips yet...on a 2000 blazer, and a 2001 maxima.
