HS Drivers Ed does not qualify for insurance discount. Contact an insurance agent and they can verify certain advanced driving courses will qualify you for discount. Depends on the course and the insurance company.

When I grew up it did offer a discount, but this can depend on company to company.

I really dont know what all this thing entails, but i think it is classes, instructor time on the track, solo time, time in a skid car. and a bunch of ****. its $750 if you want to rent an Acura to drive while you are there, but I want to take my car. If you are curious as to what it is, go to the website

I went to the Panoz one day class a few years ago. In the morning we had some class and then drove Audi A4's on a wet skid pad and did 2 autocross sessions. In the afternoon, we did 1 autocross session in Panoz GT's then four 20 minute road course sessions. The cost was $975. The first time you turn on the fuel pump toggle and then turn on the ignition toggle and fire up the car was worth about $500 bucks, man, I mean it was RIGHTIOUS! Have fun and enjoy yourself!

Although I am not allowed to take my RX300 (no trucks or SUVs unless a closed track with no other people running) on to some of the tracks here like Hermanos Rodriguez, I have driven some other very high powered vehicles and two problems he always encountered:
1. Overheated brakes/rotors (make sure your fluid is new and of excellent (being good is not sufficient) quality along with new pads). One time I went up to the track in Leon and 5 cars had cracked rotors (a long trip back to Mexico City).
2. Overheated tires (you just have to watch your pressure). At Hermanos, the techs kept telling everyone to have a high PSI in the tires to avoid beading. It took one lap for my buddy with his RX7, to bring it in and lower the psi quickly as those tired just up like 6 psi. Here is the one track day where my buddy raced his RX7...$250 USD for the entire day, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWr5GTJsKiE
