Default How to remove the center console storage

How to remove the center console storage box?

I took apart the car this weekend to perform the nav hack, the back up camera override and Nav Video Hijack . I was hoping to find a way to tap the audio jack and 12V plug in the center console box, but couldn’t figure out a way to remove the center console storage box.

There were two screws holding down the storage box (picture below). I unscrew it, but still couldn’t remove the box. In fact, after unscrewing the two screws it didn’t even loosen the storage box.

Anyone have instructions on removing the center console storage box, or can point me in the right direction?

Thanks

No idea, but you are way braver than me. Godspeed in getting everything back together, working properly with the desired hacks/modifications, and with no induced squeaks or rattles.

Not that brave, I did it because of the great write ups on this community forum. Here's some more pictures of the mayhem. Everything is put back together now. you can't even tell this was done. I'll post up some pictures once it's all done. All in all only $20 worth of parts needed

My Goal:
1) Back up camera hijack (Done)
2) Car moving Nav Override (Done)
3) Video in (Done)
4) Carputer (Car computer) (Not done) : need help on removing the center console storage box, so I can tap the 3.5mm Audio Jack

remove the cupholder in the console... and if you look closely, there is a little indentation. get a screw driver and pop it up... an voila! you will see that its a little access panel

Could you post a photo of the access panel open? Love to run my wires internally.

yes, the plastic piece in the storage box. remove the plastic piece that is used for the cup holder. then look at the bottom and you should see a small indentation just big enough for a small flathead screw driver. stick it in there and use some force to pop it up.

Does any one know if the 12V port in the storage box turns off along with the car ignition?
