@OP - If you wanted the M3 Vert, why not the 335i vert? Hardtop, new car under maintenance/warranty. Factory performance that's hard to beat.

True, just don't feel like shelling out $50K for one. Plus I'm taking the depreciation hit on the IS already, so it'd really make the car like $55K ish for switching.
For now though I'm happy with the IS. I think down the road I just may pickup another car when finances permit. I think at this point I'm just being greedy. My gf is going to be buying a car soon, and she's looking at verts, so maybe I can convince her to pickup something fun. =)

Ahh budget.
For a cheaper 2nd car I would consider the S or even a Miata. You should be able to find a good condition S with slightly higher miles for well under 20. Other than that, there really aren't many sport verts out there. Used M3, Elise, and Boxster S are all that come to mind.
