Front Cupholder Removal?
I searched and only found info for other models.
Due to complete lack of space in the lovely IS I put all my loose junk in the front cupholder (not the one inside the armrest) and as it was filled to the top some stuff (keys) fell underneath it. So now I have lost my keys and the cupholder top won't open properly.
Is there an easy way of remvoing the cupholder or at least its cover to get my keys out without having to take apart the whole console? I hope there is...

Like I said I filled it to the top with junk. I guess when you close the lid of the cupholder, there's an empty space which is for the lid to retract back into. I closed the top and the keys fell into that hole while driving around.
I found the guide that shows how to take apart the whole center console... is that my only option? I have the one problem of losing my keys and the other problem of having this thing rattle around.

can you grab some stuff out of it wtih tweezers a little bit at a time? this teaches you to keep your brand new car in good shape. plus, that's what the center console is for, not the cupholder.

The original thread was to do the Nav Hack but you can use the first half to assist in removing the shifter plate assembly.

yea I had a similar problem with quarters getting stuck in the ashtray lid in my '04 Solara.
I filled it to the top and couple quarters slipped into where the lid retracts and i couldn't open the friggin thing.
Service took it apart and got the quarters out for me tho =P
Then it happened again and I just traded it in for my blue baby

^ Okay smartass, I didn't mean junk like garbage.
Anyway, I used that guide and opened her up to take the key out. It worked, just hope the panels are all nice and tight... hopefully won't get any squeaks or anything.
