Question Removing the Lexus splash screen delay on startup with Backup Camera/Nav?

I'm slowly starting to get annoyed with the "Lexus" screen that appears on the Nav screen when the car first starts. Does anyone know how to disable this?

Here's the scenario: I jump in my car, in a hurry, and want to back out of my parking spot with help from the backup camera. After I turn the car on and shift into Reverse, I still have to wait a second or two while the nav screen just displays the word "Lexus". Yes I know it's a very short wait, but I don't like waiting if I don't have to.

In software these are called "splash" screens, and there is usually a way to disable them from being displayed when the program starts. I'm looking for the same thing for my Nav screen.

Does anyone know of a hack or something else to disable this? I don't remember seeing anything in the user manual about this...

Thanks!

Unfortunately, this has not been conquered.

There has been many threads regarding this situation, and no one has been able to disable it.

I think its like a Dell or HP computer covering up the POST that occurs in the background when you boot your computer... Removing thatmight show the ugliness thats going on behind it. Also, to reason it stays showing for so long is probably be cause it takes the GUI that long to load up.

Yeah, that's kinda what I suspected. Then I thought "well it's a lexus... maybe it doesn't really NEED that much time to boot up the nav system". (I guess though it's probably an aspect of the nav system mftr more than it's a Lexus issue.)

Oh well, thanks anyway you guys.

The nav screen does not bother me. What does, is the fact
that I cannot put the car in reverse immediately after I press
the start button. If I don't wait one second, it will always stall.

Thats probably because the car isn't ready to be put in gear.

are you kidding me? i'd love that! that would be sick imo to have the screen run a POST when the car turns on. i'm a dork though

lol, Ill admit that would be kinda funny to see. I can imagine watching a linux OS load up or something on these units. Nice. But I dont know if Id want to see that everytime. People would ask, what was wrong with your nav?

ha ha. I'm usually late for work, and about 50% of the time I need to back out... so I start the car, immediately put it in reverse, then wait... tick... tock... tick... ok NOW I can see what's behind me

^sure. before you even get into your car, you can visually detect 2 seconds of physical space behind your car. just get into your car, slam it into reverse and start backing for those 2 seconds until your camera comes on. lol lol lol

har har

actually, I've used the rearview camera WAAAY more than I ever thought I would -- it's crucial in getting out of tight parallel parking spots. I can't see how much room I have in the front, but I know I can back up to within an inch or two of the car behind me.

your solution is to back your car in your driveway (garage).
