Hi guys,
I came across this question, i dont know if i dind't search hard enough or whatever.

I just wanted to know if anyone has had success with self-programming those lexus keyfobs on ebay or if they are even programmable at all.

Maybe it can only be done at a lexus dealer.

The keys on the 2IS are not self programmable; you need the factory scan tool.

if i bought one on ebay, and took it to the dealer, would that work?

yes, the keyless feature would work but you would need to still get a new key cut. thats if you would ever need to use the key itself.

Do we know how much they will charge to program and cut a key for it? I'm sure it's over a $100.00

Sure, the dealer would be glad to get those done for you. But Im sure it would cost you an arm and a leg!

any one have the details on the pricing for programming and/or key cutting, lets say i already have a blank.

well, the local lexus dealer does it for free as long as you provide the key, don't know about others.
