Default Speedo Accuracy

Has anyone compared the speedo speed to GPS device?
I tested mine and the GPS has shown an average of 5-7km under the speed indicated on my speedo.

Ive heard smaller rims will tend to travel slow than the speed indicated on the speedo. Im in australia and ive got mine with 16inch rims.

Am i the only one experiencing this? Shouldnt Lexus make configurations for different rim size fit on out car so the speed is actually matched to the speedo?

If you compare tire diameters you will find the 16" is a bit smaller than the 17". Also note 17" are staggered tire sizes. But I changed to same size (225/50-17) to maintain speedo reading, fill up the front wheel arches (lowered look) yet enhance ride quality. Works a real treat.

On this same topic... what % off are Lexus speedometers? Generally speaking ALL manufactures set their speedos slightly higher. But the amount to which they are higher than the actual speed differs.

Our nav system also has a setting where you can adjust for different sized tires.

What alterations or configurations must be made to the car to maintain the correct speed indicated on the speedo for different rim size?

Will the dealer fix this problem if i complain about it?
