How Often Do You Use Cruise Control?
#32
It's fine on interstate, or flat open country, but it has the very annoying habit of downshifting when going downhill in an attempt to keep the speed constant. Very un-Lexus like. So if I'm in hilly country I don't use it.

One shouldn't use cruise control on hilly roads if fuel economy is one of the reasons ones uses it. The MPG is hurt going up, and the upside capped going down.
So it's probably best to turn it off before you hit the upslope, build up some speed, keep the foot constant and let speed naturally burn off, then let the car roll back down picking up speed on its own.
Of course this is only when you're the only person on the road because it can be irritating to others, and also only when you're doing it to max fuel efficiency.

I'm a freelance musician and travel all over GA and the Southeast so I use cruise any time I'm on my way to a job which is about 80% of my driving. I get better mileage and sine the first ticket I've ever had was about 2 months after getting my Obsidian 2IS it helps prevent speeding. Btw... that first ticket was in Atlanta as I was driving right along with traffic (moving at a good clip to keep people off my rear which is normal here)... including a few 18 wheelers... but I got the blue light. I kind of think the car is what got me pegged since we were all going about the same speed... maybe I'm wrong though... I couldn't deny the speed however, and had to pay the price.
