Just wondered who else experienced this...i know there are similar threads, but what the heck....
When I first got my 350, I filled up the tank and it would say roughly 325-335 miles until empty, and my gas mileage was around 20. Gradually, everything started to increase. Now, at 5,000 miles, when I fill up, it reads 375-385 distance till empty, and I'm averaging 25-26mpg. all the same route, same gas station, same driving habits. And yes, i've checked my actualy mileage by the odometer and gallons to fill...and its very consistent with the computer.
this happen to anyone else?
also happened of my brother's girlfriend's new corolla. went from about 28-33 or sometihng like that.

I'm okay with my current mpg which is about 23mpg for mixed city/highway driving, but if it improves to something like your gas mileage I'll be even happier considering the current gas prices in the Bay Area are crazy.

For a number of reasons well known and not so well known, mpg usually improves in warmer weather. The temperature and summer gas formulation are both key components. Do a search for "warm weather and improved gas mileage"

I get 31 MPG on the highway in my IS250 with my A/C set at 77 degrees, bun coolers on, and my speeding along between 75-80 MPH. I cannot use cruise control on I-10 due to the shear volume of traffic between Texas and Louisiana on weekends, but I did use it once when I made a late night drive, and noticed a slight improvement in gas mileage to 32 MPG.
I get about 26 MPG in the city with A/C at 77, bun coolers on.
I have 2800 miles on my IS250. Based on past history with new cars, mileage may slightly improve over time. I can dig it!

Warmer weather does help because the gas is already "preheated", resulting in less combustion energy required. Energy, and gas mileage, is lost when gas is cold.

I just hit over 5,000 miles and was getting around 260 to 270 miles a tank up until 2 tanks ago. The last 2 tanks I got 290 to 300. Yes I drive the car hard. I hope the trend keeps going this way! I keep close track of the miles per tank that I get.

If it took this long to notice gas mileage improvement, then you simply have summer gas in your car. You should notice an improvement after 2K miles. Did you see an increase then?
