Ice Cold

IMO the ac on this car is ok, I don't think it's as good as what everybody here makes it out to be, If I leave me car sitting in the sun for a few hours in Phoenix it takes it awhile before the interior starts to cool down to an acceptable level, the ac on my 93 Explorer would make the one on the IS look weak and the Explorer has twice the area to cool.
Cot Damn do you get cold, like arctic blast cold!

Can you ellaborate on this, I have been working on automotive ac systems for 20+ years now and it has always been my experience that ac systems have to work harder when the relative humidity is higher to acheive the same output as a drier climate, remember that part of the job of the ac is to eliminate moisture in the air, that's why the ac comes on when you turn the defrosters on.

I concur on this one. I am a Mechanical Engineer in Las Vegas and if we were in Miami during the summer it would be much worse due to the high humidity levels. Your AC load is based off the high temperature in combination with the relative humidity. So it is a combination of both. If you have a 90 degree day with 75% rh than that is probably worse than a 110 degree day with 15% rh. An Air Conditioner can act as a dehumidifier.
Anyway, it is just about a 100 in Vegas and if I leave my IS350 outside it gets hot as hell. I think the AC system does okay. Nothing better than my TL which I still own. Most of the time I leave it in my garage though.
