Anyways so i took my car to the local dealer to switch over from my winter tires to my summer tires... and at first they told me 105 dollars for all 4 which i thought was a fair price... I get a call 20 min later after i had already left with a rental that it was going to be 265 dollars because they were run flat tires and they needed some kind of fitting kit... I told them to shove it up their asses and i was going to take it else where... how much do you guys usually pay to have that done? and do you think its safe to take my car to another tire shop?

I got mine done at a Discount tires for 20 bucks per wheel. 105 sounds about right for all 4. I don't understand the 265 for changing out tires. It takes less than 1.5 hours to have them changed over. Unless they're charging you for the rental car.

I paid $150 to have the TPM's removed from my stock tires, have the stock tires remounted on the stock wheels, and have new tires mounted on new wheels with the TPM's from the dealership.

A fair price to remove the tires and replace on a single set of wheels is $20-$25 per wheel.

Thats what I paid to have them switch out my rims for the same rims but chrome. Being that your just changing tires I would consider taking it somewhere else... Perferably a shop that sells fancy rims as they will handle yours better. Just tell them you want to change your tires. Probably be around 110.

Well thats what you guys get for taking every little maintence needs to the dealership. is there a reason why people keep taking little easy jobs to the dealership everytime??? I guess people like to waste money for fun.

Well for one I didnt want nasty little grease monkies touching my steer wheel or anywhere else. My car comes back cleaner than when I brought it in at the dealership. Also there are little metal clips that mount the TPMS units to the rim and from what i understand in order to remove the TPMS units to but them in new rims you have to the cut those clips and replace them with new ones (which a random shop probably wont have and I dont want them putting some crap cheese d**k fix instead). Also if they mess something up itll be a lot easier to get them to fix it. Also they know exaclty how to reset the sensors (so do I, but I dont want to have to do it). And lastly I got a loaner car while they did it and snacks and water before I left! Cant beat that anywhere else IMO!

Best thing to do for tire services is find a reputable local shop and have them do it. Worth taking the time to do a search - good starting place is the Tire Rack installers list and then asking questions on local boards as to the reputation of that shop.

Found the guy who installed my BBS rims that way, I was 100% happy with the job he did and it cost about $120 to swap rims, TPS and tires. He had some of the newest and cleanest tire equipment I've ever seen. Always great when you find a shop that takes pride in their work.

I go to chatsworth tire here in la... they take good care of their customers..... if I pay, its usually 20 bucks for all four tires.... you guys have too much money to blow...

well does anyone know of any reputible places to go on the north shore of mass? I don't want to go to NTB or anything cause those guys barely speak english and could give a rats *** about your car

Go to tirerack.com, and check under installers, using your zip code. You'll get several shops, with costs and reviews. It's a starting point.
