Does the IS 350 match revs when downshifting?

It does not rev-match but it will downshift as fast as you can flick the paddles.
However, the upshifts can be slow as it is a gear limiter. IE: if you're in 3rd gear with the hammer down and up shift to 4th, the tranny will stay in the lowest gear to give you what you're apparently asking for (full acceleration.) Therefore, you can leave it in 'manual' 6th gear and it will act just like a regular tranny using all 6 gears.
Hope I've made sense.

Exactly. This is one of the reasons I love this car. I would never start to think I can up-shift better then the cars own CPU. Up-shift at WOT are already programmed to deliver best possible acceleration, why anyone would want it any other way?

For the track junkies, who want total control (for better or worse,) there are those who want the tranny to be in the gear they select, period. IE: a sudden downshift can upset the chassis at the wrong time when you're going 8/10th's or more. Being able to keep in floored in a higher gear will still give you acceleration but it will also avoid an abrupt downshift.
For the street (hopefully no one is driving at the limits) this is much less of a concern.
