Default Security Indicator

As you know, 2IS has security indicator on the center console.

LEXUS LS has security indicator on the door panel.

This position is very good to recoginize from outside.
So, I installed LS's security indicator on my 2IS.

This indicator stands out very much. Of course, it is blinking with original one.
I think the advantage of security improved.

I have posted on my Blog about this story.

goodjob installing it and everything. but i think its pointless because a light will not increase security, a better alarm will.

I think I would have done two things differently... 1) I would have ditched the chrome housing for a flat black one, and 2) I would have used a blue LED to match all the other blue interior lighting I did. That is if this was a mod I actually wanted to do.

Very nice. Curious how much the part cost and what you did to wire it. I agree with the previous post; I would like to see it painted flat black. Otherwise, very nice and clean.

Thanks all !
The cost for LS security light assy was about JPY3740(about $31) for 2 sets.
I installed them by myself. Actually, it was very hard work...
Painting flat black and using blue LED is good idea! It will be cool and beautiful !
However, because the assy of LED was made by red colored plastic, using blue LED will be no way, so far...

In all honestly, if someone really, really wants to steal your car, they'll do so one way or another, security indicator or not...

100% agreed. This is the added "bling" factor for security!
