Put stereo in AUX mode, turned Nano iPod on, manipulated volume, but no luck. Any tips, not sure how to confirm is cable is defective or I'm missing something in the hook-up.

iPod cable? You mean a stereo 1/8 inch male-male cable? They can be had for about $3 at Radio Shack.

Yes. Male x Male. Radio Shack $13.95. eBay $5.98 (worth the risk to me).

My question is not who has got a better deal ($3.00, $5.98, $24.95-Dealer), but if I am correctly using the interface... and does anyone have first-hand experience using their own? Have you ever connected an iPod to your IS? If so, what were the steps, and which iPod?

Put stereo in Aux mode and press play on your ipod. Ipod version doesn't matter! It's just a head phone jack. Good Luck.

Yeah its a simple headphone jack. Make sure your iPod volume is at MAX.

This guy (Ebay) is making a killing. Well in the off chance that the cable is broken you do have 14 days to return it for a full refund according to his auction. Keep in mind that you will not be able to control your iPod from the stereo in your car, the cable is just a Line In.

It should be a simple thing to do and should work with anything that has a headphone jack... just tried my Nintendo DS to make sure.

If it's giving you a hard time it's most likely either the cable or your audio equipment is faulty. Go out and buy another cable from Radio Shack and try that.
