I bought the complete headlight. harness, ballast. When i plug it in, it turns on briefly and goes off. Does anyone know if it's plug and play or not?

Okay i found out that my headlight was using the wrong bulb. It was d2s instead of d4s. I bought new d4s and the headlights are working now. Plug and play except for the afs thingy. Does anyone know how the afs works? I know on the bmw they have the auto leveling and you'd have to buy components for the suspension, computer and reprogramming for it to work and that cost alot. but how does the afs work. Does it need suspension components and computer ?

Your afs won't work because your car didn't come equipped with the sensors since you got it with halogen headlights.

^^ thanks. I did a search and you will need to hook up suspension parts with sensors and possibly other computer components. Not worth it at this time unless someone is selling me their afs sensor components for a good price. For now i'm happy with my 6k HID bulbs on OEM HID headlights. They are much much better than the stock halogens.

Once you drive with HID you can never go back to halogen...

Once you drive a lexus with AFS ... driving any other car at night sucks

^^^Not unless you have retrofitted headlights that is wide and bright enough to not need AFS

^^ so the AFS doesn't cause the headlight to turn as you turn but to give more or less light as needed?

the AFS turns the headlights a little bit when you make turns at certain degrees, I was just stating that my current set up is wide enough to not need it

^^ thanks man. As for the turning. I used to have an e60 with the adaptive headlights. It was kinda creepy when it moved. Especially when you are driving by yourself on a lonely canyon. I don't care for adaptive headlights.
