Just installed the rear spoiler....DIY
I ordered the stock spoiler from Sewell and was a little intimidated by the directions.
But once I read them over once and dove in, the step by step was very good. The pics didn't help much though.
I just wanted to drop a line to those who might be thinking about doing it, or taking it to the dealer to do...... Unless you are getting it as an option from the dealer, do the install yourself....
The hardest part was getting the middle nut on the screw post. It ends up in an odd place and you need a knuckle-type extention on the socket wrench. Everything else is strait forward. Drilling the rear deck was a little intimidating at first, but after the first hole, I was OK with it.
OA it was a very clean install and took me about a hour and a half.....Would have been more like 45, but I really didn't want to screw it up so I went very slow.
And one BIG tip I can give you is this........Don't drop any of the nuts in the trunk lid.....I did and went fishing with a magnet

No...........No pics..... I thought about that post facto. Next mod I probably will.
It was not hard to do at all, and I would not hesitate on doing another one.... And I'm by no means a mechanic. A drill, some sockets, needle nose plyers to wedge up the pop rivets, some painters masking tape.....that's about it. Pretty easy.

But If you ever want to sell the spoiler, the no drill is the way to go....

True, but 99.9% of owners would never want to remove the spoiler once it is on in order to sell it. The spoiler is such a subtle addition I can't imagine someone getting tired of it and selling it.

I agree..and that's why I drilled.... At least I know that if some punk tries to get it off, He'll have to break it off and it will be worthless....

Got my spoiler the other day and going to do the install this weekend.
I'm not a confident driller so I'm going to go with the tape only method. Do the screws pull out or am I going to have to dremel them off?

cut off the little posts and use no screws which equals no drilling and a much simpler install. And as a bonus its reversible so if you don't like it rip it off, or if a cooler spoiler comes out you can change it.

In addition, if you go the 3M tape route and decide to remove the spoiler for any reason, you will have a very tough time scraping off the left over tape on the car's finish. Those tapes don't come off easily.
