i just changed the battery in the F.O.B. "remote" because the car could not detect the key. Well I changed the battery, which i was only able to purchase at the dealership cuz i could not find the battery at Bestbuy, Staples, Office Depot, and Radio Shack.

Since i replaced the battery the car does not unlock the doors the way it did before the battery change. Before the battery change the driver door would unlock without me touching the car. After the battery change the door will only unlock if i pull on the door handle.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

 

Are you saying that you just walked up to your car without pressing the unlock button or touching the inside of the door handle and your car would unlock??? If so, that's most definitely NOT supposed to happen. The keyless entry system requires two things: proximity (1.3 meters to be exact) and contact. Without those two, you would need to press the unlock button on your keyfob to unlock the door.

Oh, and it's a key fob, not a F.O.B. - that means something else...
