Some states laws (like in Oregon I believe) forbid fog lights being on at night unless there is actual fog. The reason? It’s because quite often they are aimed too high so they perform as another set of high beams, blinding both oncoming traffic and through rear view mirrors if behind.
Does anyone here care? Or are we just a bunch of self-centered drivers who can’t get beyond nonsense like, “they look cool,” or “they’re sexy” while we’re really saying “to hell with the other guy.”

I've always liked the look of the HID's during the day, so I keep the headlights always on, and flip the fog lights off during the day and on at night.
But now one of my headlight bulbs just burned out, and i'm wondering if it's partially because i have them on all the time. ugh. the daytime running lights look like they belong on a ford escort.

as for oregon laws, i've lived in oregon for years, have always used fogs at night, and have never had an issue, even when i was stopped for something else. i'm, pretty sure it's like a lot of other traffic laws that are available if you're sassing a cop and he wants a few more to slap on ya, but no one actually gets a ticket for it.

dude. whatever it takes to look radical. but really, i've never seen standard fogs that are brighter than headlights. in fact the whole concept of fog lights is that they disperse light more, which in theory means they would be quite a bit dimmer than headlights, which are meant to project.

Now maybe it has not happened to you, but more than once I’ve been blinded by some jerk coming up behind me at night with bright fog lights. If and when it does, you may see my point.

Strange bunch of owners here. First, many people wanted the DRL's OFF because they supposedly don't look good. Now, according to the poll, over 70% drive with fog lights on. Why are DRL's considered goofy, yet fog lights considered cool??
Many low end cars have fog lights standard now, so it would seem Lexus owners who think they have something unique don't get out much.

Since I change it the HID as well so I turn them on all the time especially at night... My friend told me that they look so bright! (8000k) haha I am so happy when someone say that to me! At day time I will only turn the headlights on for good looking purpose!

The more and more I see people driving their IS. the more I see people driving with the fog lights off. I don't get it. Its a sports car why not have them on. I just wanted to see what everyone else is doing. Or do you think that these people don't even know the difference or don't know there is an on/off
Nothing pisses me off more than having to use the mirror dim switch in my Camry during the day cause some a..hole thinks it cool. IT"S NOT COOL
