Question on AIRBAG ON/OFF light.

I've never seen the airbag on/off light in our '06 IS, but I do believe there is an airbag off light that turns on when it senses a child in the front seat. Also, in my dad's '05 Toyota Avalon the airbag on lights stays illuminated whenever an adult is seating in the front passenger seat.
this is what i'm referring to... i have an 07... to the right of the emergency light you will see it when you turn on your car they will both flash together but the one on the right of the two will stay on saying passenger air bag on but at times it will go off and the left one will appear saying passenger airbag off.
What exactly are you implying your lady friend was doing leaning towards you, lifting off her seat...

This happened to me yesterday, the passenger never was off the seat and it happened for 15 minutes. She lifted her butt off the seat and back on to try to turn back on the airbag, but it wouldn't come back on. We gave up and eventually it started working again on its own.
