I had mine turned off as well until I get a hold of some LED DRL's which should look much better when on [think Audi]. I have a contact over at VLEDs and they are going to be shipping "HID White" LED 900x specifically for DRL/FOG application(s) w/in the next few weeks. They have some on their site now, but these new units se are suppose to be 10x brighter then what is currently available.

I asked them to do it when I went in to get my 2cnd set of TPMS sensors initialized.
He went on about how they wouldn't do it, they weren't allowed, blah blah blah.
I just told him I hated the damn things, and that if I couldn't get another dealer to turn them off I'd figure out a way with the wiring. That I hated them because of the fact that motorcycles are now lost in a sea of the DRLs during the day.
When I came back to pick up my car he had turned them off, and said well he just wanted to save me the trouble of getting another dealer to do it or modifying the wiring myself. I think the printout of how to do it was the thing that got it though, as they asked to keep it if I didn't mind.

guys, no matter what your dealership says it's all part of the LPS. They shouldn't say crap to you and just do it. They are ugly too.
I had mine turned off np.
I guess if they really needed an excuse other then the fact that it's part of the LPS , you could say that you do work on military bases and it's "all lights off" no matter what.

Oh, I don't doubt that someone would try and sue, but I believe some cars actually have a switch where the driver can turn them on or off (I could be wrong though). I guess you can never trust what a jurry would do, but I for one wouldn't find the driver or the dealership liable for turning off DRL in an accident if I were on that jurry.

Pathetic isn't it - and is the very reason why we do not have the goodies that are available on the JDM version of the ISx50; or other goodies that are availabe in Japan and other countries [the list is too long to go thru]. Think we are free country - try traveling to other parts of the free world and you'll find that were not so free anymore.

Although I believe DRL have limited value as a safety device, I’ve left ours on. They don’t really bother me and I’ll take any advantage I can get.

What does it matter anyway if you're behind the wheel, it's not like you can see it.
And no, the techs aren't lazy, they're simply instructed to NOT DO IT.
I'm sure a majority of us have some stupid corporate policies at work instructing us not to do so-and-so and put yourself in that position. If a customer comes in requesting any other-wise, what would you have done? In addition, Lexus' customer service is great, but it doesn't mean they'll do anything you want them to do, that would just be ridiculous.
