Haha, I've added about 60lbs worth of sound deadening to my trunk already and I've got a little bit more to go just to make sure I don't get this sound.

You also might want to reinforce with bolts/glue/welding, the rear view mirror. I'm sure with that wattage and our weakly secured rear view mirror, it will fly off on the first song.

I can only hope so... then I won't have to worry about it vibrating anymore!

I have the ML Nav system, and wanted more bass, so I bought an 800 watt Kenwood and 12 inch Alpine Type R in a Q Logic bandpass setup, and had Bestbuy install it. They added a line converter to it and it slams. I am not into shaking the neighbor's windows, but good quality sound, and this is perfect for it. And yes... I can shake the windows if I want to. Add sound deadening stuff though, b/c it WILL rattle everything including the plate and gas tank.

Correct me if I'm wrong but when you use the sound deadening isnt going to make the bass less noticeable form the outside, the point of deadening is to keep all the sound in, so it will be WAY louder inside the car but outside a lot quieter. My friend deadened all his doors and roof with it and when he's got the music up loud you hear barely anything outside the car, but inside its dam loud. If you want everyone to be able to hear it, dont put deadening in the trunk, but for the license plate, use some 3m tape on the bottom of it and it will not move .

Why exactly do you want to hear the bass outside? To look like Mr. Cool?

someone please tell me where to get the audio signals from? Some say to get it from the sub and some say the amp is clipping the sub when the volume is turned up high. I have a 12w6v2 and 500/1 ready to install but I want to know where to get the audio signal from. Does anyone have the schematic for the ML amp?

sorry to hijack your thread ROn

I am about to do something similar to you. The HU is fine, just turn ASL off. The non-ML amp has 2 channels. The ML amp has 1 channel so it is perfect. You should take out the stock sub and dampen at least some of the trunk and licence plate area. If you want to hear it knock outside, I'd just roll around with the windows down. I personally do not care for systems where the base causes the trunk to sound like ***** from all the vibration/air, I want something clean. I believe if you have an aftermarket amp you can still plug into the ML amp for some added power, not sure?Get a base **** too.

Yes the head unit will work great...however I had to add a digital processor to my set up. I added 2 10's that push about 800watts. I am using my head unit and it sounds great.
