Me apunto!

I agree with you about the negatives but you have to realize that Puerto Rico is beautiful place to live. You have all sort of sceneries including the only rain forest in the nation, 500 years of rich history, beaches all around, perfect climate year round, etc.... The most important positive is the people it self,
We learned to live with the situation. There is hope about the monopoly situation, our local legislature is investigating the issue and I'm hopping they change the way an individual pay taxes so importing the car from the mainland would be a better alternative for the consumer. As a consequence the dealers will have the only alternative to lower the prices to compete with the US dealers.
Let wait and see!!

Respectfully, I was just kidding around because there's a misconception that people from PR pay zero taxes.
Sounds like it really sucks to live there from your description. The pros must outweigh the cons though, or the place would be vacant.
Re: price of cars, there's always the choice to buy a more reasonably priced vehicle. I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone feeling sorry for a place that must pay extra for luxury cars.

I'm going to be visiting my aunt in Dorado towards the end of August. If you guys start meeting up or just dicking around... let me know. I'm dying to see some of the PR racing scene. I never really got a chance to get exposed to it growing up (left PR when i was 5), and my cousin tells me it's crazy. Keep me posted!
