Cut out the Red out? What do you think?

Cut out the Red out? What do you think?
I need your opinion.
I am about to apply the red-out taillight cover. However, I was thinking of making a slight variation.
I wanted to make an exact rectangular cut on the red out so that some of the orange is shown. The cut would be the same as the white reverse light rectangle. I just wanted to add symmetry rather than just making it all red.
Something like this: (sorry for my crappy e-painting... )

I'm not so sure... there is not enough contrast between orange and red for it to really pop, like the white on red does. Also, the white and the orange are not connected and are of two different colors, so I think it'll just end up looking messy. Obviously, we won't know for sure until someone actually tries it :]

and when the thing blinks, would it look strange having both the red and orange parts blinking?
then again, i think the whole thing blinks when you signal anyway, right?
