Default Moderators: I've seen quite a few DIY's lately that should be faq'd

I think this would help people with searches.

Many really good ones with photos.
Here's 4 really good ones from recent post.
hid fog from passnu2
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...&highlight=diy

camera mount from yours truly
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...&highlight=diy

another one from passnu2 (side mirror jdm light install)
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...&highlight=diy

rear brakes from brian231
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...&highlight=diy

painted grill from ikenn

One thing I would like to see myself is a list of exactly what is done at each service interval for those of us that would like to DIY those.
for example:

5k service
- oil change and they do something else
15k service
- i think oil change, they lube something, air cabin filter, and something else.

actually, this is probably in the manual, but my car is outside right now and I am too lazy to go look.
next service
etc...

What would really be cool is if you could integrate some sort of "vote for faq" button into the php forum. Kind of like a best of on craigslist. Once, i certain thread had enough votes it would be bumped to the moderators for a review and possible posting to faq section

Just an idea.

OH yeah one more thing.

When posting a "diy" most people follow the format. I think it should be a standard. Always start the thread with

DIY: The colon is important. Reason: because php forums cannot handle 3 character searches, but for some reason they handle 4 character ones just fine. The colon makes that 4th character.

of course you can always do you string like
DIY+hid+install
DIY+tanabe+install
DIY+iwishcombfilterwouldshutup

ok i am done.

A couple of these are already in the FAQ's, Troy. There's already an HID fog installation stickied in the FAQ - no need for two. Those that haven't been added aren't really 'Frequently Asked Questions' yet. We'd like to keep the FAQ comprehensive, but short enough to actually find something.

It's about time to have this conversation again, so I'm merging this thread with the previous call for nominations for additions to the 2IS FAQ.

Javier

p.s. - You'll be happy to know that I've been changing several DIY threads that used 'DYI' in the thread title. That REALLY makes it impossible to find them.

Thanks Comb!

I didnt know there was a DIY for the fogs but now that I go back and look you do not need to remove the front bumper. My DIY is about 1 hour depending on the individual VS the many hours to take off the front bumper and try to get it aligned again.

Either way there is now 2 options for this....Hope mine is of help....I am done with my car now so no more DIY from me.
