Default Would it be possible to add the seat memory?

I really wanted seat memory presets but unfortunately not normally available for the IS250..

do you think later the parts might be available for a retrofit to make the seat presets work (and maybe mirrors too)? I wonder if the harness are already there in all the cars.

Gosh, not sure about this one. You'd have to add the memory buttons somewhere even if you could. I guess you could always ask Lexus.

Button panels are already on the car.. But yes I am assuming some button and controller would become available later on from junkyards.

but luxary package is available on IS350 but not IS250 normally.

Those who has a spouse who uses drasticly different driving position would appreciate this.

Yes you can, but it will be very very expensive.

Not only do you have to add the buttons, but also the mechanism on to the seat. You have to integrate the memory function with the side mirrors and telescoping steering wheel. Finally, you have to integrate it to the shifter as the memory seats do not work while out of park (in case you press a memory button while driving).

Not sure if this feature is really worth it (at least for most). You will have to pay a fortune to get it added on now, and it may not be as good as the factory version.

Buyer beware! Aftermarket stuff isn't always the same. Ask plenty of questions before you commit to this.

I'm actually thinking about this.

A new door panel with Memory Seat buttons is about $150.00 at the dealer.

A Driver Seat ECM is about $85.00 at the dealer.

All i really need to do is the Driver Seat.

For $500 or less, I would really consider.

I've searched and searched, seems like the seats are the same regardless if it has memory seats or not. Only option for difference is Perforated and non-perforated.

btw, can some1 please share the 2IS Electrical manual? I need the pages that pertain to the Memory Seats.

I'd really like to read up on it and see if it is really possible.

I've also checked ebay. For some reason, the whole manual is not available right now.

You couldn't even integrate the tilt/telescope steering wheel, because it's not power adjustment unless you get the Lux or Sport Pkg, and if you got that package, you already have memory seats.

My IS 250 came with the Luxury Package. I did a special order, but that is just because of what they sell in my region - it doesn't mean they don't normally offer it.

Thumbs up

I am very interested in doing this as well.. Regardless of the steering wheel remaining manual. It would be great to have the side mirrors tilt in reverse as well, which I believe is controlled by the memory system.

Another nice feature is linking it to your key fob, so when you walk up to the car, it adjusts automatically.

Question is, can it be added without hacking up the wiring. I haven't taken my door panels off to see if the harness is already in the doors, but I doubt it is, which makes me guess, you probably have to buy a new harness as well.

well not really. You can probably route your own wires to make it work.

I would guess grounding a few wires and powering a few would do it.

Can any1 post the electrical manual pages that pertain to the driver side memory seats?

To me, memory seats is most important. I could care less about the other stuff.

Glad I am not the only one, I was excited when I read about IS having this feature because I want to share the car with my wife, unfortunately later learned it was not a standard option.

I could deal with the old manual seats rocking with locking rails, but this infinite power seat makes it difficult, maybe I will try to tell the wife to keep the adjustment for sliding front and back only...

I was asking this question hoping the harness or plugs were already in the car.. so someone with wiring diagram can probably confirm this? And if it only does cost a few hundred dollars for parts it could be worth while... if it's not too much of a hack.
