That car makes me sad. Why dont they make the IS350 in AWD/MT. Oh well, I will keep it in mind for the next car.

I think changing the tranny and all associated parts on the IS350 would be more beneficial than going super.

Parts should be easier to find in a junk yard, since there are a lot of AWD IS's. Plus the 350 has about 2-3K in brake upgrades vs the AWD IS

I wonder if the GS350 AWD system can somehow be adapted to the IS350... that would be pretty sick.

Nobody knows if the AWD system can handle the additional power though.

For all intents and purposes there is an IS350 AWD hidden under the sheetmetal of the new GS350 AWD, so yes, it can handle the power.

Lexus has the technology already for a GS/IS-platform based AWD.

Perhaps it will come soon, via IS-F or IS-based crossover (have you read the Prototype and Rumor Forum?).

Unfortunately, AWD is ultimately not in high demand, which means AWD = poor resale values compared to regular RWD...
