Actually, I saw some pics of your car in previous threads in which you had your headlights on and they don't really look like HIDs. Or maybe the fogs were throwing me and my eyes off but like you said they do look a little too yellow. Just follow what others said and either face a garage and turn on your lights (if the lights move then its HID) or try listening for the buzz. I do not have OEM HID so I have never seen them from behind the wheel.

you can easily tell whether or not you have an oem HID just by examining the headlights closely. Cars with an oem HID have a "round magnifying" looking lens.

I had this same question when I first got my car. I was questioning whether or not the were HIDs because they weren't as blue in color as a lot of other HIDs out there. I figured it out later that night.

They're projector headlamps and all IS's have them whether they're halogen bulbs or HIDs.

From the sounds of it I am assuming you don't have HID's. I didn't get them in my car and thought it had them as well. I have an 06 though. If you get them later I suggest getting the 8,000k lights. That will give you a nice European blue look. My fogs match up nicely with the yellow lamps.

here is one way to tell. when you turn on HIDS there is a very small delay until the light comes on. non hids turn on in an instant. The reason is that HIDs have to heat up the gas inside its chamber.

factory HIDs shouldn't look yellowish. they're more of a bright white with a bluish tint. they're much more crisp looking than halogens. halogens are more dull and blurry when looking at them head on. sit in a car that you know doesn't have HIDs then sit in the Lexus. it should be obvious.
