I've clarified the intent of this post, removed some confusion and moved this back to the main IS forum.

Cool, i would like to see the progress on this as you put stuff together.

The other question is, was the person who totalled it a part of this forum?

LOL!! The owner of that thing probably didn't know how to use the internet, much less a computer. How the flip can you do that to a car with only 3K miles??

I think there was a gap in the cranium.

Keep us updated with pics as you progress through the rebirth of that beauty you got on your hands. i bet once its you save urself a good 20k from if you bought it from the dealership. have fun fixing it!!!!! i'll buy it when ur done if the price is right!

I want to buy a fixer upper from the website readytofix.com they have sick cars at cheap prices.

That doesn't look too bad. The engine looks relatively in tact.

yea the roof and window look to be easy fixes...some welding involved. The trunk lid can be replaced with a new one easily. Fender is nothing to replace.

The suspension looks iffy but if he can locate a fully crossmember and control arms...it should bolt on and an alignment shop can measure everything.

good luck with the repair.

good luck buddy. I had a similar repair done on my previous 2005 Solara. It cost over $15000CAD and took more than 10months by the bodyshop. Luckily it was covered by insurance.

A couple of members come to mind... don't want this thread locked, so I'll keep the names to myself...

looks like someone jumped a curb and ran over a street sign/pole. from the looks of roof and trunk damage, its probably safe to say it wasnt a street light or street name sign. it was probably a small sign like merging lanes or speed limit. if this was the case then maybe the frame wasnt bent, but pretty sure the suspension control arms are bent, maybe tie rod broken. the bumper looks intact. not too bad...
