how much does it cost to import a car to canada. Whenever i sell something to someone on ebay that lives in canada they tell me to write broken on the box and value the package under $30 so i believe they don't have to pay a duty??? damn a car must cost a lot to import. Any of you Canada members wanna buy my AWD, ill cut you guys a deal 55K with rims and system. ahaha

No US Lexus dealer will sell Canadian customer, I tried buying an IS250AWD, every dealer I emailed said they can't sell to Canadian customer because Lexus USA will penalize them from their future allotments. one dealer told me every car they sell to Canadian customer, they loose 2 cars from their next allotment. I am still searching if any dealer will sell me because I will save crazy amount at least 10K

The MSRP on a AWD is about 7K less. So we're almost in the same boat. I didn't/wasn't able to get any special discounts aside from $1500 off + Rear lip on my car. It was the only 2007 GFM AWD W/NAV that was coming into Canada. So I either take it, or not.
Well only 6% tax here in alberta. But good point after tax i am sure I would have been around $65k.

The guys on ebay are trying to avoid duty.

If the car was made in north america there is no duty when shipping accross the border.

Stock IS250RWD starts $36,400 CAD (~$33,852 USD), which is just a tad less than the base IS350 in the US!
