Default IS250 AWD vs BMW 325XI

Has anyone done any deep comparisions on these 2 cars. Which one do you think is better?

AWD comparison?
Comfort level?
Navi?
Driving control?
Looks?

and if you guys have any opinions it would be helpful.

Thank you

I considered the 328xi but it lost out on looks (out and in), navi, and features (like ventilated seats, memory seats for passenger, etc).

You are going to have to decide on looks--personally, I don't think there's any comparison that the IS looks better.

I didn't test the BMW because (1) it was going to cost a lot more, and (2) there is no possible way that a german nav is better than the Lexus nav, which may be the best (or 2nd best to Honda/Acura) out there AND you have to get the iDrive to get the nav.

I'll let those that have driven/owned both opin on the dynamics of each.

I like the Looks of the IS better.. but i never test drove the 325xi.

does anyone know about what the AWD ratio is in the BMW?
I think the IS is 70 Rear and 30 Front, correct me if im wrong.

but why would the BMW be better?

Thanks for your opinions

Why don't you test drive both cars and see which one you like better?

There's no doubt you're going to get biased answers asking the question on a Lexus/BMW forum...

Just go with your heart and budget.

My sister has a 325xi and I have the IS250 awd. Having driven both cars many times, I'm gonna point out what ive noticed. BMW's handling is much better but has a harsher ride. Bmw feels a little faster but the lexus is smoother. The bmw has a more aggressive stance, seems a little wider and lower. The lexus is a good 2" too high. The lexus has standard features that would rocket the price in options in a bmw. One of the biggest differences, the lexus interior hands down blows the bmw's away.

Thats about right. To add to this, the 325xi is a bit faster but not much. The biggest thing between these two is that u will get more for your money with the lexus and NAV is def. better then the iDrive. But you should definately go check out both. Interior lexus hands down, as everyone else will tell u.

good luck

Also, consider long term reliability and upkeep.
If you lease, this is a moot point.
But if you are going to own the vehicle and keep it more than the warranty period, historically Lexus has been more reliable than bmw.

i went to the BMW dealership today to test drive a 335xi today and in the showroom there was a display on the top of a 3 series with a Lexus vs. BMW kind of thing. Lexus coffee mug equalling $2,300 and a BMW coffee mug equalling $0. meaning the first 4 years of service i believe? SO were not the only ones that compare the dealerships do too, obviously. Needless to say the 335xi is sick and i really want it, but the $48k price tag , im going to have to sleep on it.

i think the 250 will give less of a headache in the long run since its proven toyota technology. ha. but as for the service, your paying for that up front without them having to tell you. thats why the sticker is so high for the car.

I love my 330, I just can't keep the damn thing on the road. It has an innate desire to spend its life up on a lift, being serviced.

Make no mistake, it is a better driver's car than a Lexus in nearly every way. I won't be buying another one anytime soon though
