I doubt that would go over well if you didn't buy from them

The paintwork came out excellent, going in for my clear bra installed this Saturday. Whats a good ballpark price on just the front bumper clear bra with parking sensors and headlamp washers installed?

i was wondering, what does it say on your invoce when you got your car back? is it classified as a warranty issue or is it just covered by the dealer? im really wondering whay they would repaint your front bumper for free. Last winter my bumper got sprayed with ice and snow and now when clean my bumber still looks ugly and shows many chips

Just had my clear bra installed by ArmorGlove out of Greenwich, CT. Got the whole bumper, lip, fogs, headlights, mirrors, hood, fenders, and all four door cups done. Job came out awsome. They sent a crew of 4-5 guys and had the job done in about 2 hours right at my house. Hopefully my car stays looking brand new forever now. Here is there number if your interested: 203-861-1550.

Why didn't you let the paint cure before sealing it with plastic? It's your car, but that's pretty crazy.

It was baked, then got a good amount of sun for about a week. Any problems there?

Agreed. I look at the cars that I've owned for 10+ years, and I can recall the rock chips on the dates that I got them. In reality, there aren't that many in a 10 year span. Most of them seem to happen shortly after I buy the car.

IMO, the resale value does suffer with a repainted bumper.

If you take the part to a good body shop, the paintwork will be better than factory. Factory robotic paint jobs are great, but they don't compare to a hand buffed and polished paint job. One of my friends family owns a body shop that specializes in high end and exotic cars. I'm getting a few parts of my car repainted. If it's good enough for a Ferrari or Lambo, then I say it's good enough for a Lexus . If anything, someone might wonder why the paint on the rest of my car is lacking lol!

Japan has tighter paint emission and toxicity restrictions so their chemistry is a bit different than their German brethren. If you ever get a part repainted, request a paint that conforms to the German specification. It's a LOT tougher but worse on the enviroment than the Japanese spec paints. However, you benefit from a thicker/stronger paint. Ever notice why the paint on Benz, BMW, and even Volkswagen are so much tougher and hard to chip? Thats why...
