Default 2008 IS350 Ordered at JM Lexus

Hi guys... Well, it is done! I/we just ordered the following vehicle from JM Lexus.
2008 IS350
Black / Sapphire
Cashmere
Sport Pkg
Nav/ML
Rear Spoiler
Full Ground Effects

Our sales associate was "Cindy P.", internet sales. She was great, no hassle, right to the point, and very pleasant. In about an hour, the deal was done. Of course we had our homework with us (print out of the Edmund's pricing). Not only was it a nice buying experience, but we got a pretty good deal that we feel is fair. Pricing was based on the 2007 as they don't expect much of a price increase for 2008. Of course everything was done in writing with a detailed contract. For those who have interest in purchasing a 2008 IS, I strongly recommend going through Cindy at JM Lexus.

The car should be built in late July - early August with delivery time around mid-late September (3 months from now).

Now, time to sell the 05 S2000 with 26k miles or simply trade it in at time of delivery.

Congrats!!! - Seems like a great experience...

Did she happen to mention the 3 other fees that didn't show up on Edmunds dealer invoice pricing???

1- TDA = Advertising
2- Dealer Holdback
3- Whsl Financial Reserve

Also, 2008 allocation orders will be plugged into the computers after middle of this week..
Then they will accepted by Lexus Japan on or about July 20th for build ...

To my understanding (from 3 different Lexus sources) we won't see any 2008's hitting the states till around mid to end of October...

Although I / they could be wrong.

Regarding the "other fees", which of course she did not mention but we knew of two. 1. Part of the delivery fee has the advertisement rolled into it, 700-something, 2. 2% of base MSRP is the holdback--they keep that 3. I have no idea what "Whsl Financial Reserve" is. I also got them to swallow a big chunk of their $600 dealer fee. Our order is supposed to be on the first boat from Japan to hit the Jacksonville Depot. We'll see how the time frames work out as September / October rolls around. Knowing my luck, a major hurricane will be off the coast of Jacksonville and the shipping lanes will be tied up for an additional week or two! jk

We're pleased with the deal. With everything, we're about halfway between invoice and MSRP.

I bought my 06 Lexus IS 250 with Mike Dubler at that dealership back when the car first came out, and I got $4000 off of msrp and no dealer prep.

If we wanted an IS250, there seemed to be more wiggle room. For some reason, the IS350 commands a bit more $$. Go figure. Perhaps due to lower production of the IS350. Either way, about $1,500 over cost, no complaints here. After all, when dealing with luxury brands, it is not as if one is going to the Chevy dealer where rebates and such abound.

So glad it went well, and you're happy with the deal.

Would you please post the actual $ numbers of the deal so I can fully understand how the whole thing rolls up before visiting JM.

I wonder if they will just commit to a sales price under for a fixed discount from whatever the 2008 MSRP is, rather than fog sculpting from 2007 prices.

Thanks again for all the valuable data.

Yes, I read that Joe, but....

....what I'm hoping for is a little more detail, such as:

Expected invoice price xx,xxx
Plus agreed to mark up x,xxx
Plus advertising/prep x,xxx
Plus dealer fees xxx
Plus any other fees xxx
_____
Equals sales price xx,xxxx before tax, title , licencse (TTL) or trade

Or.......

Expected MSRP price zz,zzz
Less agreed to discount z,zzz
Plus advertising/prep z,zzz
Plus dealer fees zzz
Plus any other fees zzz
______
Equals sales price zz,zzz (as above)

The lack of this type of detail for the hundreds of sales prices quoted around here, sometimes causes more confusion, than assistance, IMHO.

Any additional information you can provide would be greatly appreciated, DropTopGal

They may not break it down in detail like you want. That's like asking them to break down the price on the heated seats option. I also went through JM Lexus, through the same sales person as a matter of fact, and all I have on my order is the final price, sales tax, and trade in value of which the last two of the three are zero. I'm expecting to only pay what's on the order I agreed to. I was quoted the same price for my IS350 whether I got a 2007 or 2008. The model year and delivery date was up to me.

I know....I know, but I keep trying. The JM sales force is quite disciplined, sticks to the script, and has strict sales managers. If you're happy with your transaction, that's a good thing.

But trying to get the details from them, like most Lexus dealerships, is near impossible.

^^^ Considering the info she supplied....

I'll take a stab and say right around $43,608 + TTL

Which is the half way point bewteen MSRP and Actual Dealer Invoice.

Give or take a few hundred dollars...

That's essentially the same deal I got. I'm getting almost the same car except mine has the dynamic cruise control option which is pretty expensive accounting for the $1900 difference between our prices.
