Default How much more will maintenance be for an IS350 compared to an Accord?

I currently have an 04 Accord 4cyl and I've only brought it in for oil changes and a 30k checkup. Haven't changed the tires out yet (I'm at 36k miles now). I would say that I've spent about $400 on maintenance since I bought the car 3 years ago. I was talking to a friend about getting an IS350 a year from now (a used 06) and he said that maintenance will be significantly more expensive. I asked him to elaborate but he couldn't, so I'm not sure if he's making stuff up or not haha.

comming from a v6 LX to a IS250 ( i know your question was about the 350) but over the two years i had the accord i spend 400.00 on 8 synthetic oil changes and that was it (upgraded the brake pads 80.00) but that was not maintance. i spend about the same on an oil change for my 250 s0 overall i would say its the same. But i dont go to the dealer, and lexus cars are relatively low maintance like hondas, check your oil, change your oil, rotate the tires and check the trans/clutch fluid. You know basic stuff, mostly checking.

oh yeah i did an alignment when i lowered the accord and the IS, 50.00 each time.

i would say prettymuch equal.

here is a pic of my accord RIP

well, i dont know how long you plan on keeping the IS but there is a difference between maintenance and service. you can easily maintain the car, but service is a different story. service you will take your car to the dealer and they will charge you alot. if service is your worry get a 335i or a 330i...free service.

The work you will have to have done will me a lot more depending on how long you have the car... For starters consider that the stock tires only last about 20K-25K depending on how you drive and are generally at a minimum 700 bucks to replace. Most I have heard are paying around 1300. Oil changes through Lexus: 40-50. You name it, it costs more. I came from an 03 accord coupe 4cly, so I know where your coming from. Oh an dont forget... premium gas only!

If you go to the dealerships (Honda vs Lexus), the price difference can be significant. But you also get "more service" with a Lexus dealership Service Department...

If you go to any other service provider or do your own maintenance, it should be about the same.
