Before when I was driving my 95 Acura Legend Coupe, I gave it to my wife when I found a 93 Acura Legend Coupe 6-Speed manual. Best choice I ever made. I love driving manual cars. For any car that would be mine specifically, I would opt for a manual transmission with a very close DSG transmission 2nd if available. I personally settle for automatics because my wife can't and doesn't want to drive a manual. I grew up driving manual cars and I have no problems driving them in stop and go traffic. It is so second nature that I don't even realize that I'm stepping on the clutch. You just do it without thought.

Eventually I think I'll start moving toward DSG type transmissions so the wife can drive it if she needed to. For my family car, it is all automatic.

To answer the original topic. If the IS350 were my car and not a family car, I would purchase it with a 6-Speed manual if it were available.

I divorced the one who drove stick. She could even cut a hot lap at Malibu Gran Prix, but everything else was a disaster. Current wife wins in all other categories, so I call it a minor compromise because I still have the Supra for my 6 speed fix and she will never let me sell it.

Of course, either the Club Lexus forum has the last bastion of manual tranny lovers or a whole lot of deluded AT IS350 owners or just a lot of people who lie like hell on polls.

I would buy one in a heartbeat. If the IS came in coupe form with a 6spd, it would melt people's faces.

6speed with AWD. Now you are talking. Then again if I didn't get the employee discount I would have already been back to the Audi dealership to get awd and a 6mt. and possibly back a few times since for warranty repairs. lol.

Were I buying a new RHT 350 Coupe (if such an animal really comes to life), I'd be looking at a manual if offered. The auto sedan works fine for my commute and weekend excursions, however.

i dont like IS manual center console area ---> where the manual shifter is located. not luxurious at all. Very different from the auto tranny ones.

There needs to be some follow-up polls.

1) Do you actually know how to drive a manual or do you just want one because Car and Driver told you so?

2) Would your mom let you buy a manual car? (for the sponsored in the forum)

Maybe in the Quartermile, but not on a road course. The IS350's manumatic is absolutely trash. It shifts up and down as it pleases. It offers very little control over the cars transmission. Yay, I can bounce off the rev limiter by stopping my car from upshifting.

Whats the poin. IMO, the paddles are not much more than decoration. And I am pretty sure that most the people here who want MTs... probably know how to drive MT.

Next car, will probably be another brand, unless the paddles offer some semblance of control over the car.

Quick Reply: If an IS350 6MT was available, how many would buy it?
