2 words: illegal and dangerous. Have you ever tried to drive at night with a tinted windshield? If you have an accident and kill someone because you couldn't see out your windshield, your insurance won't pay and you could be subject to prosecution and lawsuits. I have my windows tinted (legally for my state) but would never tint my windshield, even if it was legal.

My tint guys doesnt like to do it. He said that since there is all the electronics in the dash, when he squeeges the windshield....all that water/soap has no where to go but down in the dash. He said he would do it but doesnt want to be responsible for anything burning out.

My dad and I get requests to do the front windshields sometimes when they bring the car in to get the sides and rear done. But usually charge them almost pretty much for a whole nother car to try and get away from doing it and they still want to anyways. Funny thing is that there was some that came back as soon as a week to get it removed because of a ticket and of course charge for that also.

Highly illegal in Cali. I wouldn't do it.

I would rather turn on the A/C...

Just get the $30 fitted windshield reflector and call it a day for when the car is sitting in the sun.

I believe there is a ceramic tint at 70%. Can't remember the brand name but it's the real expensive one.

Tinting the whole windshield in CA is illegal, but you can tint the top 4 inches.

But beware, you might not be able to see traffic lights that well...

Very good advise for Ron.

If you don't kill yourself, your passengers and some other innocents, you'll wind up in jail polishing Bubba's junk 15x.
