hello everyone, i was wondering is there anyway to set so that when u shift to S mode it'll match your current gear or to 1 when you're at a stand still instead of 4th???

Yeah. Downshift with the paddle 4 times...

Unfortunately, it starts at 4th gear all the time.

im not sure you understand how S mode works. Even tho it shifts to 4th at a standstill your car will not start on 4th gear. It actually starts on first, but you limit what gear the highest gear. The IS does not have a DSG.

To clarify a bit further, the paddles don't select the current gear, they only select the maximum possible gear the transmission can automatically choose. That's why it's relatively quick and easy to compel the transmission to downshift, but not so easy to get it to upshift.
