Here's my opinion on these:
They look fantastic, but LED's in the headlight housing tend to burn out much quicker than bulbs. This is because MOST LED's are more prone to burnout in heat, and with HID's being on, it gives off more heat, shortening your LED bulb life. Now some higher quality LED's (such as the ones in the new LS460hL and Audi R8) are resistant to the heat. Not sure about these particular ones.
Also, I'm pretty sure these will not pass a state inspection of headlights, seeing as the high beams are now too weak to even be high beams now. Sure they will radiate light, but like the thread says, it wont get brighter than they already are.
Finally, although the LED's do look pretty cool, it is possible to get the exact same color BULBS (not LEDs) for the high beams, which will give off the same look, retain the orginal high beam function if you ever need it, as well as keep the longivity of the item without fear of burn out. I bought these for my car, the hyper white silverstar bulbs. They were $40.00, but look amazing. I'll take pics shortly for comparison purpose.

Well, when it comes time for inspection just switch out your bulbs. I currently have one of those cheap imported blue bulbs in my DRL, they still illuminate yellow but the blue bulbs make my light casing reflect blue when you see my car parked which loooks really cool. I'm wondering if i can find whiter/bluer DRL lights with a blue bulb.
I also have a 12 LED wedge bulb installed in my parking lights on my gs and at night when the DRLs are off my casing is SO BLUE! I live in NYC and some say they are highly illegal but I've yet to be pulled over for it, maybe cuz it does shine more than 3 feet away from the car. It's just all show and doesnt illuminate to bother other drivers.

Ok, i went ordered a pair of these 1watt led bulbs... i couldnt resist. I spent 95bucks 2wks ago for the PIAA 4000k 9005 and when the highlites are on they look as nice as the HID's but for DRL they are only less yellow....
I also ordered a pair of the vleds 5led SMT 194 bulbs to replace my PIAA led parking/city lite. I went with the SMT cuz everyone says that after a few months their 5led refractor bulbs were flickering/burning out. Figure i'd give the SMT's a go and see what happens.
Our cars are new and the aftermarket still needs to catch up. The lite mods still need to be perfected. Course i'll let everyone know how the SMT parking lites hold up.
Damm ebay/paypal, making it sooooo easy to spend money I see so many IS on the road nowdays so i gots to be different.
