I hate to say this, but the G37 looks similar to the new Altima. And yes, IMO the G35/37 look similar, whether that's good or bad I do not know, because I've always been a fan of how the coupe looked. I saw one of the newer sedans on the road yesterday and to Infiniti, the sedan mimics the coupe; however, from a distance it looks sort of bland (rear) and the side was unremarkable.

In regards to the interior, if what 1sicklex is true, then that's another +...refinement, brand recognition, styling interior (coupe), ext/int (sedan), materials, reliability, were all detractors when I was looking at the G35 in 06', if Infiniti has made drastic improvement in each of those categories, I'd be double shocked.

Which of those two (Lexus/Infiniti) will be the first to offer a hardtop convertable? I lean toward Lexus.

The Lexus blasted to 60 mph in 4.9 sec. and to the quarter-mile mark at a blistering 13.5, which bests even the more expensive V-8-powered Audi S4."
That was an impressive time...4.9 puts the IS3 in rare company. Regardless at 4.9-5.3 it's the fastest production Lexus...that is until the LF/500 or whatever they want to call it is released and does better.

Here is the link for those who are interested.

2008 Infiniti G37 Sport 6MT

VEHICLE TYPE: front-engine, rear-wheel-drive, 4-passenger, 2-door coupe

ESTIMATED PRICE AS TESTED: $37,665 (estimated base price: $34,765)

ENGINE TYPE: DOHC 24-valve V-6, aluminum block and heads, port fuel injection
Displacement: 226 cu in, 3696cc
Power (SAE net): 330 bhp @ 7000 rpm
Torque (SAE net): 270 lb-ft @ 5200 rpm
One thing everyone fails to mention in terms of performance is torque. While the G37 does put out more horse power it puts out less torque than the 350 and does it at a higher RPM. 270 @ 5200rpm vs. 277 @ 4800rpm for the 350. That coupled with the fact that is is slightly heavier, no wonder it is a little slower to 60.

Cool, thx! I'm not sure how the heck they got that. I pushed the heck out of mine at the track and the best I could get in the quarter was a 13.7. Of course altitude and weather play a role too. Others have nailed a 5.3 to 60 in the car, so I suppose the average is around 5.1 to 60mph.

Zero to 100 mph: 13.2 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 13.9 sec @ 103 mph

Anyone else see a problem with those numbers? 0-100 only took 13.2, but 1/4mile took 13.9, but only 3mph faster. So are they saying it took .7seconds for 100-103mph?

Are you sure about that? I've seen Youtube videos of '07 350Z's running low 13s at the strip stock.

Oh, and remember that if a car is tested in the summer heat, you can expect performance to drop a bit.

I'm sure about it. There were TONS of G35s and 350Z's at the track when I ran my 13.251, and they were running high 13's and low 14's.

Not again....

Torque numbers - especially peak torque numbers are as meaningless as peak horsepower numbers. No one is forgetting torque, but without knowing a whole host of details, it's pretty meaningless by itself.

And I saw a Supra put down 674 hp on a dyno in 1999 on "pump" gas. Mark Tozer even proclaimed it for all to hear at Silver State Motorsports. Of course he didn't know that the pump with the gas had 100 octane on it.

Sure, youtube videos of bone stock cars...I'm believing those stories for sure, cause I saw it on the Internet...

I've seen a bone stock 350z run 13.4x half dozen runs in a row. I dunno whether he had 100oct gas or just normal pump gas since I didn't ask that but there was no performance mod on that 350z. And off the top of my had 350z and IS350 has about the same number as far as HP/TQ goes but Z being slightly lighter - maybe by 200lbs??

Whaa??? you mean theres other stuff besides pr0n on the internet??? LIES ALL LIES.

*ok lets get to the topic seriously this time*

Here we go, quoting numbers from magazines. Sounds like the 2fast2stupid generation to me... REAL LIFE isnt numbers in a magazine, REAL PEOPLE dont drive it like magazine editors. A lotus elise will blow a corolla anyday we know that BUT put my grandma in it and me in the corolla and i will blow her doors off at someplace like willowsprings/laguna seca...ect. REAL LIFE is very different from the magazines...

People with 'stock' cars doing amazing times? yea it happens, someone gets a car that was done just right at the factory, it happens, not often enough thou but it happens.

G37 close to the IS350? Well DUH... Nissan wants to sell cars too right?

I like cheese

200 lbs isn't a little, it's a LOT. What were the IS350s running on the same night? That's what counts.
