I have a similiar problem on my 2008 ES350. The headlight on the driver side seem to be sticking OUT of the bumper by 5 to 7mm. The passenger side is flush... well not completely flush, seems like 1 or 2 mm INSIDE the bumper. Im talking about the inner side of the headlight that is pointed towards the grille. (The sharp vertex). Would this be on the same issue? Or could it be caused by an accident and replaced bumper? I just bought the car but i did notice the hood was changed (it was missing the lexus stickers on the inside of the hood). But the carproof was clean. The dealer claim that the hood could of been replaced because something fell on it or other issues. I kind of agree with their claim because if the hood was damaged from an accident, it would have been a pretty big accident. I checked the insides and the Radiator fans and all the other components at the front were OEM and they were old (the hood looked like it was less than a year old)

Dealers get paid when they do warranty work. There's no reason to make stuff up unless they don't feel like doing the work, or they don't like you.

This gap is a known issue on the IS. I don't know about other models. There's another thread on it somewhere. Apparently the clamp under the bumper of the driver side is too tight and drags the bumper down over time. Thus, creating a gap under the driver headlight.

but my problem for my ES350 is not that the bumper that has a gap with the headlight.

My issue is that the headlight is sticking out infront of the bumper. (The sharp side of the headlight beside the grille). Its as if the bumper was pushed in towards the car frame. This is why i was suspecting that the car might have been in an accident and bumper replaced... How would i check if the bumper is OEM?

Lexus' website has a feature where you can see all of the service records. There may or may not be a clue in there that can lead you to whether or not parts of your car have been replaced in the past.

After I bought my 2007 IS350 in September I found that feature on the website and discovered that my car was probably in an accident. The report said my front left wheel was "impacted" and that the fender and roof "buckled". In addition, the windshield was replaced.

Ive replaced my bumper after I got hit and I still have the same problem. Body shop said they can't push it back anymore. Apparently its just how it is.

Ok so there is a lot going on is this thread. Some talk about the lip above the headlight some talk about below the headlight. My problem is below the headlight. Has anyone successfully taken off the front bumper cover and fixed this problem? Or has it only be done by the dealer? Can I just adjust the bracket or do I need a new different bracket?
