For those of you thinking about having your vehicle serviced at Toyota make sure you ask them if they have the oil filter for the IS350 in stock when making your appointment. I made that mistake this last weekend. Since the oil change at Toyota is $30 instead of the $60 the Lexus dealer charges I called them up to make an appointment for Saturday morning. When I called I told them I had a Lexus and they said no problem, bring it on in.
Well after waiting about 30 minutes they finally got to my car only to tell me that they didn't have the oil filter in stock and would have to order it.
I would think they would check that first thing when filling out the paperwork, but the tech goes and looks when he gets to your car. Oh well... Next time I will make sure they have it. The Service Advisor was cool about it and washed my car for me and asked if I could come back that Monday as the filter would be in. I was able to come back Monday evening and was in and out in 30 minutes.

Smart thing to do. Have Toyota do the oil change on a Lexus will save a few bucks $$ and you'll still be in a shop that is familiar with the Lexus product. If you bring your own filter, they will simply discount the cost from their fee. Oh, I should mention. Not all Toyota dealerships will service a Lexus. About 6 months ago I(we) lived in Texas for a short while and Park Place Lexus of Plano, TX is right next to Toyota of Plano. Well, the dealerships have an agreement for Toyota NOT to service Lexus even though they are owned by different people.

Cost was $31.26 after tax. Lexus dealer wanted $60 for the oil change.
To have Lexus do the full 10K service would have been $220 which includes a tire rotation. Last time I checked I couldn't rotate the tires on my 350. 10K service with Toyota is $89.

I'm getting mighty closed to my 10K. I will most likely bring it to toyota to service the car. What else do they do besides the oil change and maybe changing the air filter?

Lol that is it for your Lexus 60? damn The dealer here charges 140 yes insane.. I laughed at them but did it anyways because it is so far and i was already there... I will definitely be doing my own or taking ot to toyota if possible. At 60 I might think about it. But nothing more than that.

Down here I'd go with Toyota since Longo Lexus is right next door to Longo Toyota. I'm sure parts shouldn't be too hard to get! Or you could find a good independent....
