Only you know what kind of relationship you have with your own blood. I'm pretty sure he is not buying the car for him, it is you he wants to satisfy. At the end you will sell your IS and stay with his IS.
Help him with everything regarding including the selection and purchasing of the car.

And for all the other poster's who are trying to talk him out of it, or telling him to wait for the IS-F, quit trying to pigeon hole him. If he wants the IS350 let him get it. He's got more experience under his belt than most of you.

Find him one
my dad is quite older than yours and he would still drive faster/sportier cars than the IS350 every now and then... just make sure he's comfortable with getting in and out of the car
Best luck!!!

I can't believe the comments from some people in this thread. Someone 62 years of age is not necessarily "in their final days", too feeble to get into a small car, or otherwise making a mistake by selecting an IS. My dad is nearly two decades his senior, and you'll often find him hoisting a cooler filled with fish, hopping from the transom of his small boat onto the dock, or in the yard doing garden work. He did trade his BMW for a Jeep when he retired, not because his tastes became more conservative, but because he needed the space for a more active lifestyle.

A very valid point - but just because your father is fit as a fiddle doesn't mean everyone else's dad is Evel Knievel... My father is 63, and hates getting in and out of my car. He's worked physically demanding jobs his entire life, and now prefers something that takes a little less effort to get in and out of. Having said that - I couldn't agree more with the Evitzee's "demographics" statement above. As long he's comfortable with the physical demands of the car, WHY NOT???

Heres what you do:
1)Find him the best IS350 available. (special order if need be)
2)Sit back and watch as he puts nice mods on the car.
3)Wait until he realizes the IS350 is not for him and he prefers the Luxury of the LS.
4)Make a deal with him to sell your IS250 and give him the money, and claim your brand new IS350.

May not happen just like that (he might end up LOVING the car) but hey anything is possible
