Default The engine stalled on my IS.

Hello,
My IS250 AWD (automatic) had its engine stalled couple of times; last week and yesterday. I started my car and about to go, but there was no 'go', then I found out that my car stalled. I have never heard an automatic car stalls.... Does anyone know if this is some serious problem that I need to take it to the dealer?

I heard of autos stalling before. My friend had a brand new BMW 320i and it stalled after 2 months! I believe it was an electrical problem and had it fixed under warranty. I would definitely recommend you take it back to Lexus and have them attend the problem.

If my car stalled, I wouldn't even think about fixing it myself. I'd bring it to the dealer pronto.

did you start your car and then put it in reverse real quick? If you did that then it's going to stalled...

Yup I think this happend to me. I once started the car up and instantly put it into reverse and it stalled.

Now once I start I wait till I see the "complete" on the dash before putting it to gear.

Thats what probably happened but if you were driving as you are coming to a stop and it stalls then yea you got problems.

One time my car stalled when I started the car and put it in Reverse right away. Another time, it stalled right after I started the car and it was in Parking mode. I should give more time to watch it more carefully and probably take it to dealer when it stalls again.
