Navigation Veering Off-road

Navigation Veering Off-road
The wire from the light gray plug that connects into the back of the DVD drive of the Nav unit became loose yesterday, and the wire itself disconnected from inside of the plug. I went to Lexus asking advice and they said that there is no specific part number for this plug. The plug itself is not damaged...the wire just separated from inside of it. I was told that a new wiring harness would cost $1450 if not warrantied. I was told to try and see if radioshack has the inner part of the plug which the wire connects to. I went to radioshack and of course they did not have the part. The other advice I got was to just solder the wire and reconnect it inside, which I did. But unfortunately I have been having to re-adjust the GPS calibration because while driving, the car on the screen would veer off-road. I believe that this plug connection is the reason for this.
Any advice?

Please explain why you are having to deal with this and not just taking it to the dealer and have him do it under warranty. That is what the 4 year warranty is for. Seems dumb that the dealer would send you to Radio Shack as they certainly would not have this kind of part. Only reason would be if you have previously modified it somehow. Your story doesn't sound complete. What's missing?

Well after reinforcing the gray cable, the navigation so far seems to be on point. No jumps so far, no lags, no veering... I will reply later, as I will continue to test it out on different roads and highways.

Keep an eye on the "GPS" indicator (or lack thereof) under the map scale. If it isn't on, your nav system is working by gyroscope and speed sensor, not by GPS.
