so i finally went and swapped my vx8700 for the cheaper and less attractive looking vx8600... it just got to the point where the bluetooth got worse and worse and became pretty much unusable... the longer i used it, the more it wouldn't connect... came to the point where it would disconnect from my car a few seconds into my calls... not only that but when that happens, the phone still thinks its connected so i'm not able to hear anything from my phone or the car.... got so annoying i had to unpair it.... i had second thoughts about exchanging the phone because i liked it so much but now i'm glad i did... the vx8600 works flawlessly with my IS... not only that but it shows caller id information too!!!! phone doesn't look as nice and neither does the user interface, but i actually found it a little more user friendly than the vx8700... sound quality seems to be a bit better too...

Those with the Sony Erisson phones what model do you have and how did you transfer your contacts over? I have SE K790a and I am not able to transfer my contacts over. I tried but evertime I try to do it, my BT connection gets dropped.

Thanks

I have a Samsung A950 with Verizon, and all I can say is, don't get this combo. The bluetooth function works but that's it, no battery or signal strength, no phonebook push for the contact list. And to make it worse the phone itself is just not very clear, I think because of the lack of antenna sound is always choppy and people sometimes have a hard time hearing me in the car. I probably should have got the Razr cuz I wanted a slim phone with no protruding antenna, but everybody else had one, guess now I know why.

You've got to beam them from the phone manually. Took about 10-20 seconds if memory serves....

I wish we could get the japanese phones here in the us =/ ... our phones are always many generations old in comparison... they have had live tv on their phones for many years and 10 pm+ cameras with 5x-10x+ optical zoom and here we get excited over an iphone with slow internet connections haha

Motorola Nextel i580 works great. The only problem is the push to talk function is a little wierd. You have to push the PTT button on the phone but speak into the car. Its the same with my Aliph Jawbone BT headset.

Thumbs up Blue Tooth Phones

Lexus has a website where you can find out if a particular cell phone is compatible with your car:

http://www.lexus.com/models/GS/acces...bluetooth.html

I have Verizon with the LG VX8300 and it works great in my IS350. I transferred my phone book into the car's system and used it to set up speed dial numbers. No complaints.
