I can take "anything" apart. But if you ask me to put it back together, ROFL, hahaha, yer right!!!!! I'll do a half *** job if I get lucky.

Any thoughts on what you will be doing with the bent subframe? I'd like to get one to test out developing a real camber adjustment scheme.

Congrats on the work - just remember to tell your alignment guy you've had the subframes down so he can check your wheelbase from side to side. I had to drop the front subframe on my Supra to fix an oil pan leak and I did manage to get everything back in place accurately, but he told me it doesn't always happen that way.

Isn't it harder and more expensive to insure a car with a salvage title?

Answer to some questions:

1. it may look complicated, but it really isn't....i do wish sometimes it had a live axle rather that RIS>>>Lol

2. If you want the bent sub frame its yours (u pay for shipping)
3. In bc canada rebuilt vehicles are treated as regular cars, so no difference in insurance costs, or buy out if you crash ur car.

The 2IS suspension is very easy to work on. Its only 4 bolts to remove the subframe. Good job . Doesn't look like you're far from being finished.

I was looking at my cousins 3GS who got his alignment fixed at Miami Chassis...they can fix camber on almost any car. They work on posches, bmw's and mercedes all day long with big wheels.

anyhow...i looked at how they did the rear camber adjustment. it looks like the redrilled the lower control arm bolt hole at the crossmember and moved the control arm about 1/4" inward. you can still see where the washer was before. in the front they used new bolts for the upper A arms to reposition the mounting point. no abnormal tire wear since.

I can't imagine much of a project more difficult than drilling new holes to fix alignment problems. Maybe if the existing holes were slotted with cam bolts or something, but not just drilling new ones. That would take a LOT of serious math to get it right in one shot.
