Just so you guys know, Amazon sells the WIX filters for ~$9 from Amazon warehouse.
I ordered my second one in that "used-like new condition" just to see.... nothing was missing and the filter wasn't used. My guess is that people order the wrong one and just return them when they don't fit...and then Amazon just discounts them $3. It does say they might come repackaged, but it's not like you really need the box.... lol

Did this today. It had the YZZ08 filter in and installed my Wix replacement ($9.00), with the arrow up. Took less than 5 minutes and the hardest part for me was taking the shelf out of the side tabs.
Agreed, in comparison, the YZZ08 filter is so flimsy.
Thanks all for the heads-up on the re-circ / filter source and to the OP for pics, as I'm still waiting for my owners manual to arrive from Lexus.

2006 GS 300 Cabin Filter issue:
Thanks for the write up. I tried to do replace my Cabin Filter today today, before I read your write up, and on step 6 when I lifted the door up and over the filter (the door that closes and opens on the filter box) it didn't want to go up and when I gave it a little pressure something snapped and now it goes up and down very easy. Did I break something or was it just hung up on the filter or something.
I hope the door is suppose to go up and down freely (it doesn't seem to lock shut or be under any tension other than itself when it's closed) or else getting up there to replace or repair what snapped may be a mystery:

OK, I know this is in the manual, but figured real life pictures might help show you more detail with more of an explanation.
I've created a PDF(596k) of the steps instead of posting all the pics online with the steps. Some may not agree with that but I don't want to have multiple postings because of number of pics.
Here is the link:

Moderators: Since this file is over the 390k file limit size for PDF's uploadable to the site, I have an external link to the PDF. You are welcome to upload that PDF to this thread and remove the external link if you want. I just can't do it.
Thanks.
BTW - I'm also working on a DIY for Joe Z intake w/pics.

Appologies, I should read the full thread first. I found the diy link to the broken linkage issue https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...g-to-circ.html
Should have read the manual or looked here first

Miller Toyota in Manassas VA has this part for $22 plus tax (for those who are local). I bought the same thing (I checked the part number) from Pohanka Lexus for $47 and some change with tax.
I don't know how they sleep at night. Oh, wait... they sleep on pillows of my cash.

Is this the filter you were referring to from Amazon? I've been replacing with factory filter but they're about $30... too expensive.

I replaced my filter with the one from Amazon a year ago as per the dealers recommendation. I took my car to the dealership today and they say it needs replacing. I put only about 4k miles on my car since a year ago. What gives? Are they just being shady?
