metal to metal with 12k miles...no way even with the most agressive driving it sounds like BS.

Go reread Philips post. What's left on the pads matters 0. If you ever want to see your money, I hope you charged it so then you can dispute the charge. You fell within the replacement criteria so they are already getting paid to replace it.

I had over 35k when I brought mine in for the TSB. They indicated to me it was time to change the pads (as I already knew) but they were more than happy to replace them for free. I live in LA CA, and it was at Vista Lexus

do your homework before just giving them your car. If you knew all the info on the TSIB then you wouldnt have gotten taken for $300. I Heard about the TSIB then i went on every forum to make sure i got all the facts. I walked into the dealership told them everything i knew about the TSIB and handed it to them also highlighted. I had less then 50% pads and pretty worn out rotors at around 20K miles. They saw i knew the facts which = no BS Good luck on getting your money back...dont get your hopes up thou...2006 IS 250 RWD btw

print out the TSIB and go back to the dealership. Ask them where in the TSIB does it state that you have to have a certain % of pads left to do it. Highlight the warranty part of it. Tell them that this clearly states i am under warranty.

Can you tell us what Lexus dealer this is? Just so our other Cali members can avoid them. That will also "teach" them.

I will keep you updated on the outcome.
Looks like they just changed their story from it having to be less than X miles to it being metal on metal. Sounds fishy to me.

I exactly agree.

I would also mention, what is the difference if I had 50% pads or not? Will you be reusing them? Lexus will just tell the dealer to throw them out, once you make the warranty claim.
