Default So my Nav was acting up...

So as many 06 owners have experienced, the nav started to get a little frisky. It would have me tens of miles away from my actual location. It started off being maybe once a week. Eventually it got to be every single day.

Even adjusting/calibrating the current position, and resetting the gps info solved nothing. It would instantly jump me into the ocean. lol.

Anyway, as a last ditch effort before I went to the dealer for TSIB updated disk -which no longer has override- I figure I would try and reset/reload my firmware from the current disk. I figured it had worked fine for 8 or so months before it acted up, so it was worth a shot.

Basically in the diagnostic menu (menu, volume-top left, bottom left, top left, bottom left) Hit the loading menu... and the rest is self explanatory.

Well 3 weeks later and it hasn't faltered once. All of my entered destinations were intact, and the only thing I noticed that was lost were found in the "previous destinations" area. I'm always where it says I am.

So I still get to keep my override, and I'm no longer driving in ocean.

Sweet.

Glad things worked our for your nav. It seems that the Lexus nav had a problem across the model line. In our 07 RX350 the nav had me driving in the Everglades. The dealer did the nav upgrade but I insisted on the latest version, so to appease me, they updated my nav to the 6.1 and it hasn't faulted since.

Had the same exact issue on my 06 as well. It would be off on rare occassions initially and it ended up being a daily occurance. Got the update and all is well.
