Default picking up my new is250 tomarow

im so excited, i get to pick up my new is250, black on black tomorrow. i got the sports package with ML sounds. it came out to 36700 out the door, down from 39400 (i live in Hawaii). and it was their only black on black in the lot. im real excited to get it tomorrow and i plan on posting some pics when i get it. i asked the dealer to bring out the big red bow to let me take pictures with . btw do you guys think i should get the extended warranty? or that special coating that protects your car from bird **** etc. the dealer said with that coating i don't need to wax my car for 5 years? is that a huge lie?. thanks for your guys help and for my car

Congratulations!

Anywho, do not get the sealer thing the dealer is offering.

Check these guys out for products; they're local. http://pakshak.com/

Edit: The sealant will not last 5 years, typically, expect 6-12 months of proper beading/protection.

Congratulations and Welcome to the Club!

Do post pics when you get the chance...

As far at that "Special Coating," it's an overpriced wax job. Don't get it done, and just do it yourself. Save your self the typical $500 they charge for it. Might as well spend that money on a clear bra.

Use the Search function, and you'll find many of your concerns will have been discussed thoroughly by other members.

Good luck and drive safely!!!

Congrats and welcome to CL!!!!! First off, DO NOT get the paint protection! I did, so take it from me its worthless! AND I paid 800 bucks for it! Instead, get XM!!!! Its awesome! As far as the extended warranty goes... well if you are going to keep the car that long, Id go for it, depending on how much they want for it, if you are like me and get rid of cars every 3-4 years, dont bother.

thanks for the nice welcome guys, just a couple of hours before i get the call to go pick it up i hope. to answer the question above i don't think you get to drive off the lot same day as u purchase very often, guys correct me if im wrong. because where i am they have to take the car out of storage, and then detail my car. Lexus in Hawaii told me that they wash the car once after storage, and then they bring the car to the dealership and detail the car for about 4 hours cant wait for that shiny black car. btw, thanks every one for saving me from getting that sealant, i think i might get the extended warranty, we have one that cost around 2k, but if you don't use any of it at the end you get 100% money back, so better to be safe than sorry right? =)

get 100% back? That's pretty good. Congrats on the car bra love the color choice, great minds must think a like . OH and welcome to the love/hate thing associated with owning a black car. But nothing beats the look of a freshly detailed black car!!

Let me warn you weesped, this detailing stuff can be addictive, my first black car also, and before I knew it........... had detailing stash worth close to 4 bills easy in the span of 2 weeks. If you start getting into it buy a PC makes polishing and waxing so much easier and quicker. Check out the detail forum if you haven't already.... I've spent hours just reading stuff, there's also bunch of links to detail specific forums. And post pics once you get your new baby!
